article thumbnaiPlaying with other people is the hallmark of internet gaming, and playing against those people is its pinnacle. Tapping into this, one of the most appealing aspects of World of Warcraft was that it granted the player the ability to take the fight between the Horde and Alliance to a more personal level. Developing a system to take advantage of that conflict has consumed much of Blizzards...

article thumbnaiI am often disappointed with the quality of DVD some movies try to thrust on their viewers.  With the multi-teared format that DVD allows, publishers can easily seem lazy.  The sheer lack of well rounded content in modern releases is somewhat disheartening.  Back in the days of VHS we expected to get a movie and nothing else.  It was a rare treat to get a little extra content...

article thumbnai When I gather the resolve to hark back to the days of ink and paper storytelling, I prefer to be in it for the long haul.  I read the occasional single book adventure, but I feel like epic is the best way to go when it comes to fiction.  This approach has been known to rear around and bite me from time to time, namely Douglas Adam’s “Dirk Gently” Series, which...

ImageThe Gamers Amalgamated Union, or as we call it, "The GAU," is a membership organization whose purpose is to promote the five areas of gaming, Board, Card, Digital, Miniature, and RPG, so that everyone can play.

The GAU promotes the five areas by proving demos, information, reviews, and by running games at conventions  across Florida.

The GAU also offers mini-cons called "GAU Games Days" in various locations, bringing a chance to game with friends, play in a sanctioned tournament, and see new product demos.

Although play is our focus, one of the biggest benefits of being a GAU member is the value we bring to retail purchasing.  Every GAU member gets a standard 20% discount off the standard retail price.

Retail discounts are available at retail stores that have the GAU logo in the window or on the counter, and with the dealers at conventions throughout Florida.  Additionally, there is an on-line store that passes on the discounts to gamers around the world.

Furthermore, we offer members "group rate" discounts on attendance to several conventions they attend and at "GAU Games Days" held monthly.

Tons of other benefits are also available to GAU members including:

  • On-line forums and discussion groups.
  • Event planning. Join others in locating and holding a local event.
  • On-line reviews of games so that you can decide before you buy.
  • Chances to participate in game testing and to be involved in the design process.
  • The latest news about the gaming industry.
  • Surveys and feedbacks. Tell the manufacturer what you really think.
  • E-Zine updates when new items are available.

So JOIN TODAY and start saving on your gaming purchases.  Go here to register and start getting your benfits now.
